Gunnedah Shire Band

When we made the decision to establish the Gunnedah Online Music Eisteddfod 2020 instead of cancelling this year, we set out to contribute whatever we could to the performing arts in our own community, and Australia-wide -
- encouraging musicians from all over the country to keep practising and performing
- creating employment in the arts - where every entry counts!
- providing an outlet for families to get creative together
- sustaining the arts in our regional community for years to come

We thank you for your support πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Gunnedah Eisteddfod SocietyKristy Gumbleton (nee Rowe) is one of the Gunnedah's greatest music success stories - as a young baritone player in our rural NSW town in the 90s, Kristy went onto win the 2005 Ern Keller International Soloist of the Year competition, and has 28 National and State Titles to her name. Kristy has performed in brass band championships at the highest level, having studied in Great Britain and performed across the UK and Europe, and has released two solo albums.

"The Gunnedah Eisteddfod formed an integral part of my development as a young brass musician. It allowed valuable opportunities to perform each year, in a warm and welcoming environment. We were always lucky to have such excellent adjudicators, who gave feedback in an encouraging way. I have many fond memories growing up with the Gunnedah Eisteddfod."
