The Gunnedah Shire Band has competed at the local state and national level and the dedication of the band has been rewarded on many occasions including:
- Sixteen times national ‘Junior A Grade’ brass band champions
- Six times national Open band champions at various grades including two times as ‘Open A Grade’ national champions
- Six times state ‘Junior A Grade’ brass band champions NSW
- Nine times state Open band champions at various grades including once as ‘Open A Grade’ state champions NSW
Individual players within the band are encouraged to compete as soloists once they attain an appropriate level of musicianship. The calibre and dedication of our members is further reflected in the quantity of awards achieved at every major competition by our soloists.
